Yeah so the other day when I made a poll asking whether or not users read our guidelines or not, let me just apologize for how that ended. Certain people couldn’t leave things alone and thus things went wack. But also, thank you for those who seen the stress that was happening and provided their sincere support. That means a lot and shows that this wiki isn’t a bad place to be,
But also, thankfully, that experience taught us staff members a valuable lesson. What we need to do is actually strengthening ties between staff members (specifically the thread moderation team) and wiki users. So below is a few things we’re gonna start doing:
EMERGENCY THREAD MODERATORS NEEDED
Yes, a few of you have expressed interest in becoming a thread moderator on the wiki and we are happy to say that we are ignoring our current staff rights process for the meantime and picking three users fresh out of the wiki crowd to be personally trained by us staff members. We hope that if we pick people fresh out of the wiki environment, we can get a better understanding of what the people want and take necessary steps to improve the wiki.
For this interested and meet the requirements below, please say that you are interested by sending me a message on MY MESSAGE WALL. Please do not make a post regarding it.
Below is a list of requirements we want for you to be eligible for choosing:
Must have a Discord account. If you don’t have one, you will automatically be ineligible to be a thread moderator. No exceptions will be made so don’t even ask.
Must have a good standing with the community. You must have a good word from everyone and haven’t received a block in the last three months.
We are also looking for someone who is extremely active and has a mildly open schedule. If you are under the age of 18 and have parental restrictions or have a school-managed device, please do not apply.
HAS A FRIENDLY ATTITUDE towards users. Respect among the community is key. If you are someone who keeps getting into drama, please do not apply either,
Willingness to listen to staff members and find out the best way to be a moderator from people with a lot of experience
Experience on other wikis is great but not exactly ideal in this circumstance. What we’re trying to do is test out a new mentorship system we staff members have been trying to out together. What we need the most are users who don’t have a lot of experience with moderator tools, tactics, etc. While experience doesn’t make you ineligible, it does lower your chances on getting picked.
You must be a part of this community for at least a month
Discord and Twitter (X) involvement
Recently we had revamped both our Discord affiliate and remembered we had an official wiki Twitter (X) account.
If you would like to join our server, please click here, go to the “Roles” channel, and add the “Wiki User” role to your account. Once you do this, you will access to all the public wiki-related channels and possibly an inside look to what happens behind the scenes. If you need help, message me on Discord, tag: “the_grateful_asholotl”.
