Lyrics

Original

Till death do us part
But we're already past that phase
This is a brand new start
And I think I deserve some praise
For the way that I am
Despite having overdosed
And ending up comatose
I don't give a damn
I've let my emotions go
Fuck being a sober hoe

This is the mantra
This is my life
You're playing with now
Till the end of the night
Surrounded by fire
The passion ignites
A hit of that Heaven and Hell, a helluva high

I'm addicted to the madness
This hotel is my Atlantis
We're forever gonna have a fucking reason to sin
Let me leave my soul to burn and I'll be breathing it in
I'm addicted to the feeling
Getting higher than the ceiling
And we're never gonna want this fucking feeling to end
Just concede and give in to your inner demons again

Yeah, you fell in love
But you fell deeper in this pit
While death rains from above
So count your blessings cause this is it
You're not letting it go
So what if I misbehave
It's what everybody craves
You already know
So come if you're feeling brave
And fancy yourself a mate

You want it, I got it
See what you like?
We could have it all
By the end of the night
Your money and power
My sinful delight
A hit of that heaven and hell
A helluva high

I'm addicted to the madness
This hotel is my Atlantis
We're forever gonna have a fucking reason to sin
Let me leave my soul to burn and I'll be breathing it in
I'm addicted to the feeling
Getting higher than the ceiling
And we're never gonna want this fucking feeling to end
Just concede and give in to your inner demons again

Just concede and give in to your inner demons again

I'm addicted to the feeling
Getting higher than the ceiling
And we're never gonna want this fucking feeling to end
Just concede and give in to your inner demons again

Angel's reprise

I'm addicted to the sorrow
When the buzz ends by tomorrow
There's another rush of poison flowing into my veins
Giving me a dose of pleasure that resides by the pain

I'm addicted, I'm dependent
Looking awesome, feeling helpless
And I know I'm raisin' Cain by every highway in Hell
Maybe things won't be so terrible inside this hotel

Trivia

  • Fat Nuggets makes his first animated appearance in the official animated clip of this song.
  • During Cherri's scenes, a one-eyed figure makes an appearance. This figure bears an uncanny resemblance to the Demon Hunter, a character from Vivziepop's previous work Zoophobia, though it is unknown if it is the same character or a reference to them.
  • Travis is shown to have survived the car crash he got into in the pilot and revealed to be one of Angel's regular patrons when Angel kicks him.
  • An early reel design of Fat Nuggets taken from the prequel comic can be seen in a poster in Angel's hotel room during the after-credits scene.
  • A remix album of the song is available on YouTube.
  • The credits and epilogue use music from the VIP mix.
    • The ending "Hazbin Hotel" logo was animated by Michael Boggs, who initially made the logo as just a fan animation.[2][3][4]
  • Austin Kalista, who was previously an animator for the SpindleHorse short "Holidaze", also helped work on this short. He previously made a series of Hazbin Hotel fan animations before being inquired by Viv.
  • According to Austin, he re-watched a scene in Disney's animated film, Mulan, in order to copy the way the smoke travelled from Angel's cigarette in the after-credits scene.[5]
  • The second chorus briefly acknowledges Angel's love of blobfish and angelfish as stated from a live stream,[6] as it shows him and Cherri Bomb having fun in a club with an aquarium in the background that reaches the ceiling. Coincidentally, a blobfish can also be seen in one of the shots.
  • In the original, Angel sings about how the Hotel might not be as bad as he thought in the epilogue, while in the French dub, he sings about how he wishes to be redeemed and to be able to escape to Heaven. It is unknown if this is an easter egg, or just a translation mistake.
  • From this music video onwards, Cherri has a slightly revamped design, having different tattoos on her right arm, her left glove having a different design, the right strap, along with the buttons to her skirt removed, new designs on both her shirt and skirt along with her left boot.

Errors

  • Angel's left sclera was colored incorrectly during the second chorus.
  • The temples of both Angel and Cherri's glasses disappear throughout the scene wherein they are worn.
  • When Angel finishes singing the line "Just concede and give in to your inner demons again.", Cherri's hair appears out of nowhere.
  • During the scene wherein the two were pole dancing, there is a frame wherein Cherri's stomach is not colored in.

  • During the scene wherein Angel's facing backwards, just before he sings the line "Just concede and give in to your inner demons again.", the heart-shaped patch of fur behind his head is missing.
    • The patch of fur appears to be missing again during the scene wherein he sings the line "We're forever gonna have a fucking reason to sin."
  • The design of Cherri's usual outfit changes throughout the music video, most notably the length of her shorts.
  • The part of Angel's eye that is covered by his bangs is not colored in during the scene wherein Valentino forcefully takes Angel's chin to face him.
  • The fur patterns on Angel's hands, specifically his fingers, keep changing throughout the music video.
  • Near the end, when Angel and Cherri sing "Getting higher than the ceiling" both of Angel's eyes have pupils, as opposed to just the right one.
