- "I would've thrown a bigger [party], but I couldn't convince Belphegor to let me break into her stash of party drugs. So fucking lame! I mean, I usually just steal them, but Bel changed the locks. She says I'm a total jackass for trying. But, hey... I'm proud to be a total jackass."
- ―Beelzebub to Loona, about Belphegor
Belphegor is a minor character in Helluva Boss who made her official debut in the episode "Mastermind". She is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, embodying the sin of Sloth.
Appearance[]
Belphegor is a four-armed, lavender sheep-like demon with long puffy wool acting as her hair. She has a melting black candle on her head with a pink flame, similar to the Baphomet demons, with the tips of her ears also resembling the melting wax dripping from her candle.
She has a pair of thin, black, pointed horns on top of her head, and her arms have a black-purple gradient that stops at her fingers, resembling fingerless gloves. She has five eyes on her face — one pair being her main eyes, with horizontally slit pale pupils and long lashes, the second pair slightly smaller, positioned just above her main eyes, and the last singular eye on her forehead. She also has an elongated white neck with five eyes vertically down the front, with three having black sclera, white irises and prominent lashes, and two being a blank purple.
Personality[]
While her personality is yet to be explored, being the sin of sloth, Belphegor is seen sleeping a lot. It is somewhat hinted that, similar to a few of her fellow Deadly Sins and other generally high-class demons, she seems to be apathetic for the lower-class, such as imps.
According to Beelzebub, she isn't fond of Beelzebub using her drugs, suggesting she hoards them or values her belongings more than her peers, although presumably, not the same extent as Mammon.
History[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Belphegor's history other than at some point she joined Lucifer as part of the Deadly Sins, embodying the sin of Sloth.
Helluva Boss Season 1[]
"Queen Bee"[]
Belphegor is mentioned by Beelzebub in "Queen Bee". According to Beelzebub, Belphegor refused to let her steal from her stash of party drugs, and because of that, Belphegor changed the locks.
Helluva Boss Season 2[]
"Mastermind"[]
Belphegor appeared with the other Sins, overseeing the trial against I.M.P. She did not say anything during the proceedings and spent a good portion of it sleeping through the trial, only showing interest when there was movement near her or loud noises.
Relationships[]
Seven Deadly Sins[]
Beelzebub[]
While not having been shown interacting, during a conversation with Loona in "Queen Bee", Beelzebub implied she has a close relationship with Belphegor, even referring to her with the affectionate nickname "Bel".
Beelzebub apparently has the habit of stealing "party drugs" from Belphegor to use in her parties, enough that Belphegor has placed additional security by changing the locks on her cache of medicines and pills to stop Beelzebub from taking anymore. After Beelzebub failed to steal some of her drugs, Belphegor called Beelzebub a "jackass" for trying, but Beelzebub herself was unaffected by her insults and instead takes it in stride.
Others[]
Charlie Morningstar[]

Trivia[]
- Belphegor is based on the popular demon of the same name.
- In Peter Binsfeld's classification of demons, Belphegor is one of the seven demons associated with the seven deadly sins, embodying the deadly sin of Sloth. Likewise, Belphegor in Helluva Boss is the embodiment of Sloth.
- Belphegor is depicted as female in the Hellaverse, as opposed to her real-life demonological counterpart, who is usually depicted as a male. Although, in demonology, it was said that on some occasions, the demon would transform into a woman to seduce his victims.
- The symbol that appears on the back of Belphegor's seat and on the rings Satan uses to strip Stolas' powers is the sigil of the real-world demon.
- Belphegor's sheep-like appearance may be a reference to "counting sheep", a mental exercise used to help one fall asleep, which Belphegor frequently does.
- Due to Belphegor constantly waking up and sleeping, it is possible that she suffers from narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that causes excessive daytime sleepiness and can cause them to fall asleep suddenly.
- The "Happy Pills" Stolas takes are branded to her name.
- Belphegor is shown to be in Charlie Morningstar's phone contacts in the Hazbin Hotel episode "Dad Beat Dad".
