Ashley Nichols' OC-fied version of Capdevielle

  • Ashley Nichols is the one to design his OC-fied version of himself present during HuniCast streams.
  • Dave's first creative project was a horror-themed podcast that he hosted with other internet creators called Recapitate.[3]
  • He first met Vivienne Medrano at MagFest in 2016. Mick Lauer had invited her to the convention to help host an animation panel with him and several fellow Newgrounds artists.[4] Dave and Vivienne became friends, after which Vivienne messaged him to ask if he would help out writing on her "hell show". Dave brought his friend, Raymond Hernandez, on board, and they wrote the Hazbin Hotel pilot together.[5]
    • Dave moved to LA to aid in the production of the Hazbin Hotel pilot.[5]
    • He has talked about his mind being blown at the popularity of the pilot and that he considers himself to his standards very proud and thankful to have been part of its initial production. He described it as "changing his life" and that he is very interested and excited to see what happens with the show as it progresses with its production under A24.[5]
    • The contributions to the pilot that he is most proud of are the lyrics and melody demo for Alastor's Reprise.[6]
  • Dave describes his role in both the production of the Hazbin Hotel pilot and Far-Fetched as being very similar. In both instances, he was working with someone who already had a defined concept and some characters, but needed help developing them and pinning down scripts.[7]
    • Ashley approached Dave to ask if he would help her write the proof of concept for Far-Fetched (then called Hell Puppy) just as production on the Hazbin Hotel pilot was wrapping up.[7]
  • He is a big fan of the 80s' TV show sitcom, ALF.
  • He has a strong affection for the horror genre in general, specifically 70s' and 80s' horror films with practical effects. One of his early inspirations was The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and he enjoys media that mixes comedy with horror, talking about how he finds them close genres from an emotional standpoint, because they both provoke quick reactions in their audience.[8]
  • Dave also has a pet rat named Ranch and refers to himself as a "rat dad".
