Hatchet is a demon and one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell who first appeared in the Hazbin Hotel pilot.
Appearance[]
Hatchet is a slim white-skinned demon with a draconic snout full of sharp yellow teeth except missing one tooth, eyes with red sclera and yellow irises, and messy red hair with long horns protruding from the top of his head with two black stripes. He has black tattoos on his arms, black claws on his fingers, and black feet with two red toes. He also has a long mostly black, clubbed tail that has red spikes from the end.
Hatchet wears a black cropped tank top with rips at the hem, torn grey pants held up by a black belt with a red skull for a buckle, and a black collar with red spikes.
Pilot[]
Hatchet’s pilot design is almost identical except for his horns being long tuffs of hair, more elaborate arm patterns, and whiter teeth.
Personality[]
Little is known about Hatchet's personality, but he appears to enjoy violence based on his continuous turf wars with Prick, and from Vox's song in "Silenced" where he pitched to him for uprising against Heaven was to be able to fill Heaven with rage in his and Prick's gang fights.
Hatchet is amongst the Overlords and demons who joined and supports the Vees plan for war against Heaven. However, like his fellow Overlords, Hatchet decides to help the Hazbin Hotel staff contain the overloading Might of Lilith and save himself and Pentagram City.
Abilities[]
- Energy generation - As shown in "Curtain Call", Hatchet is able to produce and manipulate a black and dark red energy, which he used to assist in creating a barrier around Vox's overloading angelic laser canon.
- Dagger generation - As shown in "Curtain Call", Hatchet can produce and shoot daggers.
Skillset[]
- Deal-making - While not shown on-screen, like all Overlords, Hatchet is capable of making deals with others, which can be used in order to collect their souls.
Weaponry[]
- Spiked club - As seen in "Scrambled Eggs", Hatchet owns a pale red bat with silver spikes along the tip.
- Daggers - Hatchet can summon out daggers at will.

Hazbin Hotel pilot[]
Hatchet is one of the demons seen watching Charlie's interview on 666 News from a TV on display at Radio Hacks before leaving as Alastor comes across it.

Hatchet is in a turf war with Prick in the Doomsday District telling him he can go at this all day.
"Masquerade"[]
He is seen beside the jukebox in The Black Dot, and then avoids a demon whom Husk throws at the jukebox.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2[]
"Silenced"[]
After seeing the news of Alastor's defeat at the hands of Vox, Hatchet was shocked by the Overlord's victory and joined his resistance movement against Heaven, under the promise to be able to fill Heaven with rage in his and Prick's gang fights.
"Curtain Call"[]
Hatchet, as an Overlord, attended the ceremony held by Vox to celebrate their imminent victory over Heaven.
After the chaos, he then joined Emily, Charlie, Husk, Niffty, and his fellow Overlords to create a shield around Vox's overloading weapon and save Pentagram City from annihilation, then returned to his own agenda.

Prick[]
Hatchet and Prick share a rivalistic relationship and are engaged in constant turf wars. In "Scrambled Eggs", they are both seen fighting in a turf war in the Doomsday District.
In "Silenced", Hatchet and Prick share their surprise at Alastor's defeat at the hands of Vox. While fighting, they are both recruited by Vox for their resistance movement, but the two Overlords continue their fight.
Despite their violent rivalry, Hatchet and Prick worked together in "Curtain Call" to help their fellow Overlords and the Hazbin Hotel group put a barrier around the Might of Lilith.
Vox[]
Hatchet thought of Vox as arrogant and "gassed up", however, he was convinced by Vox to join his side in uprising against Heaven under promises of gang fights in Heaven with angelic blades. Vox's defeat voided these promises, and Hatchet assisted in stopping the overloading Might of Lilith and they went their separate ways.

- Hatchet has apparently been engaged in extended gang wars with fellow Overlord Prick, as mentioned by Vox in the song Bad With Us and shown in "Scrambled Eggs".
Development[]
- Hatchet was originally planned to be a character in Vivziepop's ZooPhobia webcomic. In ZooPhobia, Hatchet was a shapeshifting dragon and brother to Fitch (a demon hunter), Malcom (a teacher), and Marx (a film producer). It is currently unknown if any of Hatchet's brothers from this webcomic will be canon in Hazbin Hotel, however, Marx made a cameo in the pilot episode.
