Discussions are a place for members of the community to chat, interact, and debate upon topics of the wiki. In order to maintain peace in social conduct among our members, the staff has implemented certain rules to ensure efficiency and tolerance in the conversation. The general rules of the wiki and the Terms of Use also apply in Discussions; these specific rules can also be read here. The warning-blocking process is in effect for users who do not follow these rules.

For users that encounter any violations in the rules, report these issues to the wiki staff and do not engage the violation directly. Reporting can either be via message wall or through the community Discord. Pinging is allowed as long as it is an important situation that needs immediate attention.

Below is a list of rules pertaining to the Discussions, Blogs, and Userpage forums.

General[]

  1. Be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions. Please do not argue, insult, threaten, harass, purposefully offend, or disrespect users or their opinions or of conversations that happened outside Fandom.
  2. Posts concerning sexual, romantic, or NSFW content is prohibited regardless of intention or opinion. Roleplaying in any form (ex: "Awww (hugs and kisses you)") is also prohibited. Posts regarding sexual or romantic references to characters in the show(s) or other wiki users are also prohibited.
  3. Shipping outside of a canon show relationship is prohibited. Speculation is allowed but has to be hinted within the show(s) themselves. You will not be allowed to ship different characters based on user likings or opinions. To see ships that are allowed and those not allowed, click here.
  4. Threads and posts written to solicit attention and upvotes will be deleted or locked, depending on the post in question.
  5. Please keep your posts relevant to the channel topic. For example, discussion posts relating to Hazbin Hotel should go into "HH & HB Discussion", while fanmade content should go into "Fanmade & Fanart". For help on determing the right category, click here.
    1. As of January 29, 2024, all off-topic conversations and anything that is not related to the wiki's topic are condensed to the off-topic category. Off-topic conversations that are not in the category will be deleted. For examples of what is allowed in the off-topic category, click here.
    2. Furthermore, please refrain from posting about personal, non-wiki, and/or real-life topics. Examples include using Discussions to talk about emotional stories or posts that document real-life recent events about the user, or a matter that originated from a different website. If you have serious concerns and are seeking input, you may contact a staff member instead. Similarly, do not share personal information in comments or message walls.
  6. Impersonation of other users or famous people will not be tolerated. If you have been banned and return on a new account, your posts will be deleted and your new account(s) will be banned.
  7. Spamming, trolling, or posting of inflammatory content will be deleted and will lead to your account being banned. Gibberish, nonsensical posts, or trend-based posts also constitute as spam, regardless of where they are made. Having multiple posts at the same time causes discussions to be cluttered and causes annoyance among users.
  8. Necroposting is highly discouraged. Any posts more than two weeks old that are commented on will be locked. In order to keep track of each reply, posts exceeding 100 comments will be locked by a moderator to prevent confusion. Exceptions can be made if the post is deemed important or was posted by wiki staff.
  9. Be sure to structure your posts in a good quality and legibility. Low-effort posts that consist of a few words will be deleted under moderator discretion. Post such as this has more than one sentence and are an adequate length, as an example of good quality.
  10. Fanfictions and original characters are prohibited and are to be posted on the fanon wiki. An exception to this is fanart or OC art, as long as the post is not just dedicated to info about them.
    1. When posting fanart or art in general, please credit the artist by putting their name in the post and/or the header. If the platform it is from is restricted from the public, do not add the art.
  11. Posting or linking to third-party will be constituted as soliciting or advertising on the latter's behalf and are prohibited. Social media and direct-messaging platform links are likewise prohibited. The exception if the link is connected to the wiki's topic.
  12. Ask the staff for help. Notice something that doesn't seem right? Or do you just have a question? You can contact the wiki staff through posts in the "Ask the Staff channel, or if you wish to contact Fandom staff, go to "Give feedback" on your app's Settings screen, or via Special:Contact.

Categories[]

Discussions is divided into ten categories. Categories are designed for the purpose of divying up conversations and making them navicable. When writing a post, make sure that the post in question fits into at least one of them.

  1. General: The default categories posts go into if they do not fit into any of the other categories. It is advised to avoid posting mostly into this category, which can become cluttered and difficult to follow.
  2. News & Announcements: This category covers the latest updates for both the series and the wiki. Posting in this category is restricted to staff only for controlled moderation.
  3. Ask the Staff: The category is where you can submit inquirues, help, and feedback to the staff of the wiki for immediate response. In the case a problem arises, this category is ideally where to contact and/or ping staff and not the thread where the issue takes place.
  4. Introductions/Goodbyes/Returns: The category for users old, new, or returning to introduce themselves to the community.
  5. Fanmade & Fanart: The category for fanart material made by users or non-wiki fans of the series.
  6. Wiki Discussion: The category where users can collaborate on developing, maintaining, and structuring wiki pages.
  7. HH & HB Discussions: General discussion on the topic of the series.
  8. Polls, Games & Fun: The category where humor, polls, games, and activities go. Please note that spam and off-topic memes do not go here.
  9. Rights Requests: The category where request posts go for potential staff members.
  10. Off-topic: The category for posts that are not related to the series. This category must follow the same rules of Discussion and is not to be used to make posts that fail to fall under them. For example, when posting a non-Hazbin Hotel off-site link, it must be indicated what the link is, where it is from, and must be appropriate under the rules of Discussion.
