There are many templates in use in Hazbin Hotel Wiki; these are only a subset, representing some of the most important and commonly used ones. If you feel that a template belongs on this page, do not hesitate to add it.
- Category:Templates should cover all templates in the wiki.
- The Template namespace (found from Special:AllPages) always has all templates in the wiki, sorted alphanumerically.
What are templates?
Wiki templates provide a means to insert the same content over and over in different (or the same) pages. This saves editors the hassle of duplicating the same text again and again, and also helps ensure consistency.
Templates are generally shown with the format required to use the template (e.g. {{delete}}). Clicking the template name takes you to the template's page, where you can see what it looks like and how it is used.

- a subpage using {{documentation}}; or
- the template page itself (inside "noinclude" tags); or
- the template's talk page.

Article management templates
Nominate an article for deletion

- Add this to an article to nominate it for deletion. It will add the article to Category:Candidates for deletion.
Disambiguation articles

- If you have several articles that have similar or identical names, you may wish to create a "disambiguation" page at the main article name, with the articles taking an extra phrase in brackets afterward. For example:
- The Prince <-- disambiguation page, with links to:
- The Prince (frog)
- The Prince (human)
- Using {{disambig}} marks an article as a disambiguation page by adding a banner to the article and categorizing it under Category:Disambiguation. Add links to the various articles under the banner.

Identifying stub articles

- If the article is lacking in information or in need of improvement, this template can be added at the top of the page.
- Using {{stub}} marks an article as a stub page by adding a banner to the article and categorizing it under Category:Article stubs.

Notice for outdated content
{{old}}
- If the article has information from early releases, an outdated source (eg. Patreon), is part of an older creation, or needs to be updated based on the current canon, this template can be added at the top of the page.
- Using {{old}} categorizes the article under Category:Articles with outdated content.
Articles requiring citation

- Add this to a sentence or statement within the article that needs a reliable source to verify its claim.
- Using {{fact}} categorizes the article under Category:Articles needing citation.
Notice for non-canon articles

- If the article is documenting a subject that is confirmed to be non-canon or of unrelated status to the current canon, this template can be added at the top of the page.
- Using {{non-canon}} categorizes the article under Category:Non-canon.
Notice for protected articles

- Add this to display that the article is currently locked from editing for a reason provided in the template's field.

- This template allows you to show example template code (with a link to the templates) without using the template itself. It is used extensively on this page.

- This template goes at the top of an article and is used to direct the user to an article on a similar name or subject for disambiguation.

- If the subject of an article section has its own page, this template links to that article. Use this at the start of a section to link to the main article on that subject.

- Use this template to add quotes to the article.
{{quoteLink}}
- Use this template to add a link to external quote pages.
Reference list

- Use this at the end of an article to show cited sources and references. This template goes under a "References" section.
Scroll
{{scroll}}
- This template adds a scroll to the content enclosed inside the first parameter. For height and width preference, add in the desired numbers inside the "height" and "width" parameters.
Upcoming
{{Upcoming}}
- This template is a notice that goes at the top of an article to indicate the article is on an unreleased subject that is being expanded and requires valid sourced-information.
