Trivia

  • In a video released on April 23, 2024, Vivziepop teased the series of Helluva Shorts by saying that they had in the works a way to explore the episodic nature that was originally intended for Helluva Boss outside the series.[2]
  • According to Morgana Ignis, when the shorts were started, Adam Neylan had previously discussed with Vivziepop and when Adam and Morgana were out at lunch together, he asked if she wanted to write the shorts. Morgana explains that the first thing that came to mind for the shorts was the only time we have seen Sallie May and Millie together was a funny and snarky moment, and her idea for the story was to establish what their relationship is really like.[3]
  • According to Adam Neylan, an entire second team had to be built in the studio to do the shorts, which was a massive challenge.[4]
  • Vivziepop confirmed that there will be more shorts releasing during the long wait between season 2 and season 3.[5]
  • During the Animate! Raleigh 2025 video posted on January 14, 2025, Richard Horvitz confirmed that they had already recorded eight shorts.[6]
  • On Bluesky, Vivziepop explained that the first 8 shorts were written before the Helluva Boss deal with Amazon happened, and were deliberately made experimental and meant to be something fun alongside potential bigger releases, but now have to be released standalone when they weren't originally supposed to be.[7]
    • She also confirmed that of the 8 shorts, there are some that are "meaty" and really great, and that every short written since those 8 have been written with the shorts being the only Helluva Boss content for a good while in mind.[8]
  • At GalaxyCon Animate! Orlando 2025, Vivziepop confirmed that there will be some shorts that are not missions, and added that they had stocked up on missions, but now have a bunch of non-missions in the pipeline.[9]
