KeeKee[1] is the key to the Hazbin Hotel,[2] along with being Charlie's pet cat and the embodiment of the Hotel itself. She is a supporting character in the Hazbin Hotel series who first appears in the episode "Overture".
Appearance[]
KeeKee is a small demon-cat with a singular eye sporting a red iris and yellow sclera, and has multiple eyes and a mouth hidden in her tail.[3] She has a red outline and scruffy, mostly black colored fur with white patches, a white heart-shaped face, half of a white heart-shaped mark on both of her ears, white front paws, and white at the tip of her tail. She wears a red collar around her neck with a circular gold tag hanging off of the front.
Personality[]
Similar to a lot of cats, KeeKee is quiet and usually distant, but on occasions seeks affection from people around her, such as Sir Pentious and Frank. As stereotypical of a cat, she enjoys napping, sitting on peoples' laps, and getting pets. She is also curious and observant, as she watched and levitated to get a better view of Charlie singing Happy Day in Hell in "Overture".
Abilities[]
- Shapeshifting - KeeKee can transform into the Hazbin Hotel's key. In "The Show Must Go On", she turned into a larger key when held by Lucifer during the reconstruction of the Hotel.
- Hidden mouth and eyes - As seen in "New Pentious" and "Hazbin Hotel: Behind Closed Doors", KeeKee has a large mouth full of sharp teeth and multiple additional eyes hidden within her tail, which often appear when she is angered or agitated.
- Levitation - KeeKee can be seen floating in the episode "Overture".
- Hotel manipulation - As the embodiment and manifestation of the Hazbin Hotel, KeeKee has been stated to have abilities that can affect the Hotel,[4] and has been mentioned to be able to manipulate the Hotel itself because she is the Hotel.[5]

Hazbin Hotel Season 1[]
"Overture"[]
After Charlie read "The Story of Hell", KeeKee is seen in her key form floating in Charlie's hand until she grabs it. When Vaggie startles Charlie, she throws the key down and it transforms into KeeKee who scampers away. While Vaggie and Charlie are talking, KeeKee leaps into Charlie's arms.
In the advertisement, KeeKee can be seen sitting on a table in the Hotel foyer when a support beam falls next to her and scares her off.
As Charlie is singing, KeeKee is floating beside Angel Dust, Alastor, and Niffty at the Hotel doorway seeing Charlie leave.
"Radio Killed the Video Star"[]
KeeKee is walking around with Charlie as she rants about the early extermination, then lies down beside the television, and then prances away.
Later, Niffty is playing with KeeKee with a piece of string, but KeeKee hisses at the sight of Sir Pentious and runs off. Then when the group are doing an activity, KeeKee is laying on the hotel railing above.
"Scrambled Eggs"[]
KeeKee is sleeping on the couch until she's awoken by loud hammering and runs off. She is seen then running away from Sir Pentious and his Skin Flayer 11,000 invention.
"Masquerade"[]
KeeKee is curled up sleeping on the couch beside Charlie, who anxiously sits waiting for Angel Dust and waves to him as he returns to the Hotel from work.
"Dad Beat Dad"[]
After Lucifer is welcomed to the Hotel, KeeKee curls around Lucifer's leg, Lucifer crouches down and rubs her head. Afterward, she sits and watches Lucifer greet Razzle and Dazzle.
"Hello Rosie!"[]
When Husk asks Vaggie how Charlie keeps bringing more trouble from Heaven, KeeKee is laying on the back of the couch behind Sir Pentious with a tired eye and flashing her tail up and down. Then, now on Sir Pentious' lap, Sir Pentious gently pats KeeKee as she sleeps.
When Vaggie returns from Charlie's room with a plan, KeeKee is playing with the Egg Boiz, running in circles with each other.
"The Show Must Go On"[]
After the exorcists left, Charlie finds KeeKee stuck under the rubble of the destroyed hotel then picks her up and comforts her. Charlie pets KeeKee and she jumps out of Charlie's hands, then sits and puts her paw out on Sir Pentious' first week banner, upset about his assumed death.
While being held by Lucifer, KeeKee transforms into a larger key form which Lucifer uses to help rebuild the Hotel. After the construction of the new hotel is finished, Lucifer hands the key to Charlie and it transforms into her small key form.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2[]
"New Pentious"[]
While the Hotel is full of guests, KeeKee flies around in the lobby.
Later when Niffty asks if Baxter is going to be the "New Pentious", KeeKee growls at her with her tail's teeth exposed as the others say "No". Then on the Hotels roof with Charlie and Vaggie, KeeKee climbs onto the edge, then puts her paw toward Charlie in worry. She then jumps down to Vaggie's lap for a head scratch and is squished between Charlie and Vaggie's hug. She appears to dislike Vaggie's name suggestion of "Vazzie", then curls up on her lap.
"Hazbin Hotel: Behind Closed Doors"[]
KeeKee was sitting in the Hotel lounge when Charlie came in with news, and became mad at Cherri Bomb when she blew up a wall to leave.
When Velvette criticized the Hotel, Keekee fiercely growled at her with her tail's teeth exposed, then ran away. She was then stunned by the VoxTek 150-Inch Deluxe Television being dropped into the Hotel.
Later, KeeKee laid sleeping around Frank as he watched the advertisement for "Hazbin Hotel: Behind Closed Doors" on the couch in the lobby TV area.
"Scream Rain"[]
"Weapon of Mass Distraction"[]
Fat Nuggets cuddles with KeeKee, who wraps her tail around him, before he steps forward watching the TV when the VoxTek announcement with Angel Dust comes on.
Later, Razzle and KeeKee are on the couch comforting Charlie as she breathes into a paper bag, then she watches as she keeps trying to call Lilith, before Vox calls her. After the call, Razzle and KeeKee see Emily's portal appear.
KeeKee sits on the staircase railing as Vaggie explains who Rooster is, then sits between Baxter and Cherri as Charlie begins to sing about the future. She is then in Cherri's arms as the Hotel group as they declare that they can stop the Vees.
"Curtain Call"[]
KeeKee is in the circle with the Hotel group as they make a plan to stop Vox.
Later while the Hotel is full of guests, KeeKee is sitting on the front desk and is shocked by Razzle flying to Charlie there before checking the guest book as Charlie leaves.

- KeeKee's name may be derived from the name "Kiki", which is of French origin that means "double happiness".
- Her name may also be a pun based on her occupation as the hotel's key.
- KeeKee existed in an early rendition of Hazbin Hotel created by Vivziepop, appearing in a few development illustrations of the series.[6][1]
- According to the "Clocktower Countdown to Premiere" live stream, KeeKee is the embodiment of the Hotel and has special powers that can affect it.[4]
- Vivziepop explains that KeeKee is a physical manifestation of the Hotel because she wanted a physical character that represented the Hotel.[5]
- In the SDCC 2025 Hot Topic merch sneak peak, KeeKee is shown to have a mouth in her tail.[7] Sam Miller later confirmed this and showcased a doodle page from her files that features her tail mouth.[3] This mouth is first showcased in the episode "New Pentious" when Niffty asked if Baxter was "the new Pentious".
- The key form KeeKee appeared in when held by Lucifer in "The Show Must Go On" may be a reference to the Keyblade weapons from Kingdom Hearts.
