- On August 27, 2023, Sam Haft made a tweet saying that after co-writing Klown Bitch with Andrew Underberg for the seventh episode of Helluva Boss Season 2 that was so well-received by the team they co-wrote together six more songs for Helluva Boss and the songs for the entire first season of Hazbin Hotel.[1][2]
- On October 29, 2023, Sam explained that he brought Andrew in for the song because Sam knew he had K-pop experience.[2]
- According to Sam Haft there is a full version with two verses, three choruses, and a bridge.[3]
- On November 3, 2023, in a tweet Sam Haft explained that the lyrics of this song are not about being a "clown", instead it is actually about greed and exploitation,[4] with Glitz and Glam singing about wanting to participate in Mammon's financial and sexual exploitation.[5]
