Paulie Paesano was a human in Helluva Boss who made his debut in "Mission: Whacked Off". He is the son of Luigi Paesano, and was part of his father's mafia family.
Appearance[]
Paulie was a pale-skinned young man who bears a striking resemblance to Moxxie, with his slim posture, freckled face, albeit on his nose, and how his black hair was styled similarly, but with a single white streak similar in shape to Moxxie's horns. He also appeared to have a black shadowing around his eyes.
His clothing was similar to Moxxie's clothing but with similar color palette to Crimson's, being comprised of a white high-collared shirt over a hale-navy suit jacket with periwinkle cuffs and lapels with thin red trimmings, as well as red linings and two red buttons on the center. Paulie also wore hale navy-striped black dress pants, and black dress shoes with red decorative toes. In addition, he also wears a red bow tie.
Personality[]
Paulie was a stereotypical spoiled son turned mobster, being impulsive, violent, selfish, and not too bright. He killed a member of his own mob family and a close friend of his father's to hide his own theft from the family's inventory, and was willing to let someone else kill his own father if it meant he becomes the new boss, despite Luigi's obvious care for him.
What intelligence he does have seems to be reserved for low cunning, being able to spin sob stories about his past and apparently poor living situation with his father, given how it seems that Luigi's professional strictness is easily confused for abusive control. However, when he feels confident, he lets the facade drop and gloats no matter the power of the apparent victim of the scam.
He was also fairly uneducated in theology, or at least intellectually lazy, as he does not seem to be sure if he was a Catholic or not and thinking angels grant wishes like genies.

Paulie Paesano is the son of Luigi Paesano and an unnamed mother, who are still married. He has been prepared to take over the Paesano crime family from an early age, but deeply resents his father and has little care for the responsibilities, causing many in the mob family to deeply resent him and nickname him "The Gabagool Tool".
At some point, a mobster named Tommy Two-Holes caught him stealing from the family's inventory unauthorized, at which point Paulie killed him. Tommy, now in Hell, contracted I.M.P to assassinate him, realizing he has no place in the family and should be removed to not be trouble for Luigi.

"Mission: Whacked Off"[]
After killing Tommy Two-Holes, Paulie lied to his father Luigi about the circumstances of Tommy's death, telling him that Tommy was a rat and that he did what he had to do for him and the family, which led to Luigi telling Paulie that he had never cared about this family and ordered Paulie to get out.
After flipping off at Luigi's office door whilst pissed off, Paulie then went to an angel statue and beseeched the angel to help him. When he noticed a noise from the same statue due to Moxxie accidentally choking on a spider, believing that the angel statue was a real angel who was like a genie that could help him get rid of Luigi, Paulie asked the angel to help him with the situation he had with his father, by telling the angel that his father got him into this life of crime since he was little and Luigi had been treating him like shit. He then decided to follow the angel's instructions of faking his death, but almost got himself killed by another mob before Moxxie secretly intervened.
Moxxie then asked Paulie about what went wrong, and Paulie stated that he told them about him knowing about an angel and they assumed he lost it and tried to kill him. Just then, Luigi came in and told Paulie that the other mob family wanted his head, but Luigi was leaving to give his own instead, telling Paulie he deeply cares about him and that family is what matters.
When realizing that Luigi was going to sacrifice himself for him, Paulie was elated, even telling the angel statue that he thought he was only using it to get his father's leadership position. Before Paulie could react, Moxxie, who had been hiding behind the angel statue and clearly had it with Paulie's disrespect, pushed the statue onto him, resulting in Paulie being crushed to his death in a pool of blood.

Moxxie[]
Paulie meets Moxxie by talking to the angel statue the latter is hiding behind. Believing that the angel statue can help him get rid of his father Luigi, Paulie is unaware that he's talking to a demon sent to assassinate him. Paulie then meets his death without learning about Moxxie's true identity, after he shows his true colors on how he doesn't care if Luigi is going to sacrifice himself for his son, causing Moxxie to angrily shove the statue and ending Paulie's life.
Luigi Paesano[]
Initially, it appears that Luigi has been mistreating Paulie. However, it's later revealed that Paulie himself has no respect for his own father and is elated at taking over the Paesano mob from Luigi who is willing to sacrifice himself for him. In fact, Luigi loves Paulie a lot, and appears shocked and devastated after the disguised Moxxie coldly reports to him about Paulie's death.

- Despite both being sons of mob bosses, Moxxie left the mafia and that life behind while Paulie craved to take his father's place.
- Crimson was abusive towards Moxxie, which caused Moxxie to cut ties with him while Luigi really loved Paulie and was willing to sacrifice himself for his son, with Paulie being happy that he would die so he could take over.
