Sam Miller is the art director[1] at SpindleHorse Toons for Hazbin Hotel and formerly Helluva Boss.

Sam attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City from 2013 to 2015, majoring in Animation.
Career[]
On May 15, 2019, Sam announced that she is now working as a background artist for Hazbin Hotel.[2]

- Hellsa von Eldritch is one of Sam's favorites[8] and according to herself, her real job on Hazbin Hotel is to stan Hellsa.[9]

- Sam also helped design Beelzebub's hair and tail, and did all her palette changes with Vivziepop.[11]

- In the backgrounds Sam turned all the statues and other skeleton elements into deer's because she figured it fit.[13]
- The Clock Tower redesign for the main series was made by Sam Miller, with help from Ashleigh Beevers.[14]
- Both the Hotel redesign and the rebuilt Hotel main series designs were made by Sam Miller.[15]
- Velvette's phone case design was made by Sam Miller and is designed so the "<3" is both a heart chatspeak and stands for "3 Vees"[16] while the patterns at the bottom corners are @ symbols mimicking the shape language of her pigtails.[17]
- The VoxTek logo was made by Sam Miller and is designed to be Vox's hypno eye on its side to create a V, and includes the Wi-Fi symbol.[18]
- Valentino's symbol was made by Sam Miller and is an elevated design of the one she made for the ADDICT music video; it has a subtle XXX within a moth design, and is also a bit skull-like.[18]
- The Vees themed logo for Hazbin Hotel Season 2 was made by Sam Miller.[19]
- According to Sam Miller, all of the inspiration that she has for the show comes from Barbie, My Little Pony, and Disney Channel, withmany of the color palettes she's made for Hazbin Hotel inspired by different Disney Channel original films, such as Zombies and Descendants.[20]
- Sam created the idea for Shok.wav and pitched the idea to Vivziepop, who said he could be included if Sam named him something cool.[21] She calls Vox's other sharks "the girls" because she never named any of the others.[22]
- Sam explains that a lot of the outfits Velvette appears in in season 2 were from her personal doodle collection of Velvette she drew during season 1. Due to loving fashion herself, Sam had a lot to say about her outfits, and Vivziepop and Skye Henwood loved them so they put them straight into the show.[24]
- One outfit in particular that features a below the shoulder collar with hearts akin to Valentino's fur collar, Sam says was her thinly veiled agenda to make it clear that Velvette and Valentino are besties.[25]
- Sam Miller designed Sera's full angelic form shown in "Silenced".[26]
- Skye Henwood and Sam Miller wrote the "How to draw with Valentino" video whilst alone on a plane for 5 hours together.[27]
