Past[]
Vox's history and human past are unknown, however, it is known that at some point in the 1950's he was sent to Hell and then became one of its more powerful Overlords.
Some point after the 1970's he met and befriended Valentino, which led to the two entering an on-and-off relationship. At some point he also became friends with Velvette and the trio became the Overlord subgroup known as the Vees.
At an unknown point of time, Vox had offered Alastor to join his team, which he declined.[1] At some point the two Overlords began to see each other as hated rivals.
Seven years prior to the series, Alastor fought and almost beat Vox, but after Vox won, Alastor left Pentagram City for seven years.[1]
"A Day In The After Life" comic[]
Vox appears on television advertising products that begin with the letter V, such as a brand of cereal. Realizing that Alastor is watching his advertisements, Vox hijacks the TV signal and projects his face on the TV monitor Alastor is watching.
Alastor merely shrugs it off and calls him a show-off before leaving, however, when far away from him, Alastor begins to curse at Vox, which ends when he stops by a newly opened butchers shop.
Hazbin Hotel pilot[]
Vox is seen alongside Valentino and Velvette, who takes a selfie with him, hiding inside Valentino's porn studio after the Extermination ended.
Hazbin Hotel Season 1[]
"Radio Killed the Video Star"[]
Vox is first shown in his room in the V Tower, admiring his advertising work for VoxTek when Velvette suddenly calls him. She tells him how Valentino is throwing a tantrum and demands him to deal with it, so he reluctantly heads over to see what's going on. Before he can get there, he is questioned by the various news crews on his opinion on the extermination being pushed forward six months. He tells them not to worry and that everyone will be safe with VoxTek Angelic Security. Making this up on the spot to get rid of the press, Vox tells one of his workers to start work on it immediately and to cancel all of his appointments as turns into electricity and enters a security camera.
Vox ends up in Velvette's room and asks her what's going on, she says that she doesn't know anything about it so he heads to Valentino's room. When he enters his room, he finds Valentino ranting and raging about Angel Dust having moved out. In his rage he wants to go over to the Hazbin Hotel to kill Angel and everyone there, but Vox stops him and tells him to think rationally to keep the brand image up and do nothing. As Vox walks off, Valentino tells him that Alastor is also staying at that Hotel, causing Vox to promptly lose it. After finding this out, he goes back to his room to remind Alastor that the times are different now and starts a news segment about Alastor but is interrupted by him. He berates Vox brutally, insulting every part of his being and public image. Because of this, Vox ends up furious and accidentally takes out all of the power in the Pentagram City except the Hazbin Hotel. Alastor then tells Vox that he should have wanted him to stayed gone, telling him that their new conflict will be fun, to Vox's frustration.
Now at a meeting with the other Vees, he tells them how he does not want a deal with Alastor and Lucifer's daughter to ever be made. At first, they have no idea what they could do until Vox remembers a certain sinner. He sends this sinner, Sir Pentious, to infiltrate the Hotel as a spy for them.
After Sir Pentious is caught, he calls Vox on his watch, where Vox promptly tells him that he is an embarrassment and should kill himself if the others at the Hotel don't. Later on, Alastor finds the watch on the floor and tells Vox that he will have to try harder next time to his rage.
"Scrambled Eggs"[]
While not physically appearing, the three Vees were supposed to appear at a meeting about the upcoming extermination, however, only Velvette showed up as their representative.
"Masquerade"[]
Angel sees Vox from a balcony shaking hands with Valentino. When Vox notices Angel, his smile falters to a frown. He then turns into electricity and left.
"The Show Must Go On"[]
Vox watches everyone through his screens at or near the Hotel as they prepare for the extermination, musing they will all die.
The next day, he brings some popcorn as he, Velvette, and Valentino watch the extermination on the TV in Valentino's room. He becomes ecstatic when Alastor picked a fight with Adam, knowing the latter would most likely kill him, and shouts that he was "so hard right now", much to Velvette's disgust. He flips off Alastor on the screen when Adam defeats him, saying it was "better than sex", much to Valentino's disappointment. He becomes furious as Alastor retreated, cursing a lot.
Vox, along with alomost everyone, is confused by Lucifer's threat to "fuck Adam." He's impressed that Niffty, a rather small sinner, was able to stab Adam, a much bigger and stronger soul, to death.
After the cancellation of the Extermination, Vox watches the 666 News about it in his screens room. Afterwards, he puts a knife in an old torn photograph of himself with Alastor he enters Valentino's room, singing and dancing with Valentino on how there is a now power vacuum as they believed Alastor was apparently missing so the Vees can take advantage of to rule all of Hell. In the end, Vox and Valentino begin making out as Velvette take a selfie with them in the background.
