Past[]
Nothing is currently known about Zestial's past except that he is known to be the oldest Overlord in Hell,[1] referred to as "ancient" by Alastor.[2] He has earned a feared reputation, with the mere sight of him causing demons and even other Overlords to flee in terror or cause self destruction just to avoid him. During his golden age, Zestial formed a close friendship with his fellow Overlord Carmilla Carmine.
Zestial drinks tea after his battle with Baxter
At one point during an Overlord Games,[3] Zestial battled against the inventor Sir Pentious and the scientist Baxter, whose bioengineered creature withstood his attacks unlike Sir Pentious' cannon, leading the Overlord to acknowledge his abilities. Afterwards, Zestial was seen drinking a cup of tea while sitting next to Baxter.[4]
Hazbin Hotel pilot[]
NOTE: The following events depicted within the episode are confirmed to be not canon to the main Hazbin Hotel franchise by the creators.
After the recent extermination, Zestial is seen in a room that he hid in with Carmilla Carmine and Zeezi, alongside Lucifer Morningstar while drinking wine.

A demon trying to steal from Zestial
While Charlie is singing during her interview at 666 News, she momentarily appears beside a red dog demon who is attempting to steal bread from Zestial until Zestial unfurls his cloak and terrifies the demon.
Later when Vaggie explains to Angel Dust about Alastor's origins, several overlords can be seen, including Zestial.
Hazbin Hotel Season 1[]
"Scrambled Eggs"[]
He approaches Alastor and the Egg Boiz on a street and greets Alastor and asks how he "fares this day" and as Alastor greets him he says the weather is fine this day and they should expect some acid rain and would revel in the screams and asks how Alastor is today, and says that it has been years since he had seen Alastor and there have been rumors of Alastor falling prey to holy arms, to which Alastor says he had just took "a well-earned sabbatical". Zestial says there has been a rumor about him getting involved with the princess and asks how he got involved with such folly, and Alastor says that's for him to know but he can guess about it as he "would love to know the theories", and Zestial says it would be complex to assume what goes in Alastor's mind as he's been an enigma since Alastor manifested in this realm. Throughout their walk, demons who saw Zestial would run away or harm themselves out of fear. He and Alastor walked to Carmilla's building for a meeting with several other Overlords by taking an elevator.
Zestial telling Velvette they can't act without more intelligence
In the meeting he greets Carmilla while conjuring up some tea. When Velvette presented a deceased Exorcist's head and proposed to fight back against the angels in the next extermination, Zestial interrupted her by slurping his tea loudly saying that they should not act with such meager proof and they do not know how the Exorcist perished and it possibly wasn't by a demon's hand and if they rush to war without knowing they might purge all of Hell for daring an uprising, a sentiment echoed by his fellow Overlords. Velvette began insulting Zestial calling him a pussy and a fossil, mockingly asking him if he's too senile to make a power grab, but Carmilla came to his defense, scolding her for her disrespect. And while Velvette told him that he lost his relevance he told her that they cannot act without more intelligence on the matter.
After Carmilla ended the meeting, Zestial followed Carmilla and her daughters to her office to talk to her and questioned why she lost her composure like that as it wasn't like her and suspected Carmilla to be the one who killed the angel, since being angry isn't like her. He further comforts her on the matter, encouraging her to talk about it.

He is seen within Baxter's recollections at the Hell's Fair challenging Baxter and Sir Pentious. He attacks both Baxter's creature and Sir Pentious's cannon, destroying the latter.

Zestial ignores Vox's proposal
Zestial is having tea in his castle until he is visited by Vox, who offers him the chance to join his resistance movement to conquer Heaven, joking about Zestial's advanced age and tells him that there's boring things he'll like up there likes books and Tea and elderly care, while he simply ignores him.
"Scream Rain"[]
Zestial eavesdrops on Carmilla's meeting with Vox and Velvette in his spider form while hanging on a web in her office. He came down on a thread and transformed back to himself and questioned why Carmilla would surrender herself to Vox and Join forces with him since although his allegiance is to hell his true allegiances are to himself, but Carmilla tells him it isn't about sides anymore, but he tells her that she know better than to heed to what he says and that the path she follows will lead to ruin, but Carmilla says that the Angels will come and she cannot lose anyone else now and her loyalty is to her girls and to him. He tells her to do what she must feel is right but he won't join her and wishes she will Come to her senses about this, and when she does he will return by her side, and then disappears.
"Curtain Call"[]
Zestial and his allies help contain the Might of Lilith
Zestial appears behind Carmilla during the song "Hear My Hope" to assist with neutralizing Vox's angelical weapon, receiving help from the Hazbin Hotel staff and the rest of the Overlords. After the weapon is destroyed, he tells Carmilla that he knew she would come to her senses and stop the weapon.
